Plant Manager

Reporting directly to the regional vice president; manage the daily planning and direction with 8 direct reports. Facilitate several daily meetings related to the operation of 180k sqft flexible polyurethane foam manufacturing and fabrication facility. Managed costs inputs and production to ensure high quality of product. Monitored sales trends and adjusted labor accordingly. Discuss and resolve issues immediately or track future problem resolutions. Develop and review the annual budget expenditures/financial reports and establish spending priorities. Enforce all lean manufacturing processes, principles, maintenance, quality and safety issues.

EHS & Facilities Manager

Developed and implemented the Environmental, Health and Safety programs for this new manufacturing facility. Authored and distributed companies Illness Injury, Emergency Action and Evacuation plans. Implemented OSHA training programs for employee training compliance. Inventoried chemicals and put together and presented the Global Harmonization / Hazardous Communication program. Obtained locations EPA/RCRA ID and submitted city Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan for environmental compliance. As Facilities Manager I maintained buildings security & key control, obtained and approved bids for landscaping, external building maintenance, janitorial, vending & building supplies. I was also instrumental in closing down the companies previous locations that they moved from by obtaining sign-offs by local Fire Department Hazmat authorities ensuring environmental compliance.

Planned and assigned job duties for craftsmen in a union shop environment. Performed project engineering for site preparation, equipment fabrication, contractor bids, material procurement and equipment commissioning. Worked closely with outside agencies concerning environmental, health, safety and fire department issues for full compliance.

Supervised and directed 5 electricians and 5 instrument technicians in the installation and repair of refinery process and motor control systems. Maintained electrical motors and switchgear ranging from 480 to 4000 volt, repaired lighting/control circuits, electrostatic precipitators and programmable controllers. Coordinated and scheduled work crews, planned manpower and material supply. Monitored and reported on asset status, budgets and employee performance, maintained compliance with environmental agencies and OSHA regulations with emphasis on personnel safety. Reviewed cost-effectiveness and ensure efficient usage of material, researched

sources and negotiated contracts. Because of military background I was also assigned to manage all refinery communications, which included telecommunications, two-way radio and fiber optic systems for the entire refinery.
